เกษมบัณฑิตประกาศงดกิจกรรมรับน้อง 5 ปี หลังรุ่นพี่เปิดศึกตะลุมบอลรุ่นน้อง ทำให้มีคนถูกยิง-แทงเจ็บ
เมื่อวันที่ 18 มิ.ย. ดร.สุเมธ แย้มนุ่น เลขาธิการคณะกรรมการการอุดมศึกษา กล่าวถึง กรณีนักศึกษามหาวิทยาลัยเกษมบัณฑิต ก่อเหตุตะลุมบอนกันในวันรับน้อง ส่งผลให้มีผู้ได้รับบาดเจ็บสาหัสจากการถูกยิง และแทง จำนวน 2 ราย ว่า ตนได้มอบหมายให้เจ้าหน้าที่ของสำนักงานคณะกรรมการการอุดมศึกษา ไปติดตามเหตุการณ์ที่เกิดขึ้นแล้ว เบื้องต้นเข้าใจว่าเหตุการณ์ที่เกิดขึ้นไม่น่าจะเกี่ยวข้องกับการจัดกิจกรรมรับน้อง แต่เป็นปัญหาส่วนตัวของนักศึกษาเอง
อย่างไรก็ตาม สัปดาห์หน้าตนจะเรียกประชุมผู้บริหาร เพื่อมาหารือร่วมกันว่า จำเป็นจะต้องมีการเพิ่มเติมมาตรการป้องกันปัญหาการรับน้องรุนแรงหรือไม่ ขณะเดียวกัน จะต้องกำชับไปยังมหาวิทยาลัยต่าง ๆ ให้เฝ้าระวัง และดูแลการจัดกิจกรรมรับน้อง รวมถึงการพนันบอลอย่างเข้มงวดด้วย

Kasem Bandit announced the ban of initiation ceremonies for five years after upperclassmen physically assaulted lowerclassmen resulting with gunshot and knife injuries.
On June the 18th, Dr. Sumet Yeamnoon, the secretary to the board of The Ministry of Education stated that he has assigned The Ministry of Education’s officials to investigate the incident regarding the brawl of the students of Kasem Bandit University which resulted with two being seriously injured by a firearm and a knife. The preliminary investigation suggested that the brawl was not caused by the initiation ceremony but most probably by personal conflict between the students.
However, he will call for the school’s director to join a meeting next week to contemplate on whether or not the school should have additional preventive measures to prevent violent initiation ceremonies. At the same time, all universities must be reminded of this matter and encouraged to closely overlooking initiating ceremonies as well as football gambling amongst students.
